Our interview process explained. Thinking about becoming a Panaxean yourself? Perhaps you’ve been scrolling through our open positions, been contacted by one of our colleagues, or maybe you’re just curious. Whatever the case, we’re thrilled! Howdy! 👋

What should happen next? Fear not! This article will walk you through the three steps of our interview process. It’s pretty simple and usually takes less than 120 minutes in total.


01.
Opening Interview

You’ll meet our recruiter, Maťka Trubanová. She’s friendly, we promise! She’ll introduce you to the nature of Panaxeo, what we do, how we do it and why we do it.

See if it strikes your fancy.

This interview won’t take more than 30 minutes, online, of course (we usually use Google Meet). Here are some discussion points:

  • What interests you professionally? No need to read from a piece of paper, speak from the heart.

  • What do you want to know about the project? Feel free to ask about the client, the PM, your future colleagues…

  • How’s your English? This is important. But if you’ve read this far, you’ll do fine. 😉

  • Don’t worry about references. If you’ve got some, great! If not, no biggie; we aren’t going to ask your previous employers about your performance.

  • Finally, your pay expectations. We think it’s best to be on the same page right from the start.

Afterwards, we like to take a day to think. If there’s chemistry on both sides, it’s time to talk tech.


2. Tech Interview

You are going to meet a Dev Lead and a Manager from your future project.
It could be Števo, Tomino, Zuzka or someone else, depending on the project.


This one should last no more than 60 minutes. Maťka will keep in touch with you via email.

Some tips for the tech round:

  • You’ve got exclusive bragging rights. Built an e-shop for the cow farm in your village? Integrated NServiceBus on your previous project? Tell us all about it!

  • Imagine we’re out in a pub (in fact, feel free to bring a pint).

  • Go ahead and ask all the tech questions Maťka could not answer.

No matter the outcome, we’ll never ghost you. If we like each other, we’ll let you know as soon as possible to proceed to the final step.


3. Offer Interview

Igor or Adam, our Co-CEOs together with Maťka will have a chat with you in the final interview round.


When everything clicks, it’s time to settle the paperwork. Here’s what you’ll discuss:

  • Your feedback. How did we do? What do you like and what do you dislike?

  • Our feedback. We like to keep it honest and straightforward.

  • Financial offer. We always strive for a mutually fair agreement.

And that’s it! Welcome aboard! Now, you can officially call yourself a Panaxean with all its perks – the beach office, the Coding Arena glory, and the remote setup that’s yours to customize.
